Vocalist and multi instrumentalist Renee Cross began her musical journey at a young age studying classical piano. Shortly after, she began exploring her vocal capabilities in various ensembles.

Upon entering York University in 1997, Renee was introduced to exciting “new” styles of music and had the opportunity of studying South Indian drumming with master drummer, Dr. Trichy Sankaran, South Indian singing with acclaimed vocalist Suba Sankaran, Piano Improv with distinguished pianist and composer Casey Sokol and Composition with jazz sensation, David Mott. Renee also studied conducting, Sonic Healing and dance. In 2002, she was awarded the South Indian vocal award. At York, Renee was also introduced to future husband and musical collaborator, Curtis Maranda. She graduated in 2003 with degrees in Fine Arts/Music and Education.

Renee has travelled to numerous countries where she has had the opportunity to explore many styles of music. In 2003 she moved to Japan where she remained for three years teaching English, studying traditional Japanese music and performing in nightclubs and cultural events.
Renee returned to Canada in the summer of 2006. Since then, she has taught high school music and directed choirs and bands. She presently performs, teaches private lessons and gives world music workshops.


Curtis, a Guelph-based DJ and multi instrumentalist, was introduced to music at a young age when he began studying classical piano. In the years to follow he has familiarized himself with a wide array of instruments and musical styles, including Indonesian gamelan, Tibetan overtone singing and the Australian didgeridoo.
In 1997, Curtis entered York University, where he studied jazz and ragtime piano, Indonesian music and Music production. During this time he became interested in creating electronic music and remixing tracks. At York, Curtis was also introduced to future wife and musical collaborator, Renee Cross.

Curtis's music career further developed in Japan when he started Djing in Sendai and Tokyo and releasing tracks online. Upon his return to Canada in the summer of 2006, Curtis began teaching piano and guitar while producing, mastering and remixing tracks for various international labels. He is also an A&R representative and sound engineer for 4Play Trax. Curtis is presently in demand as a performer, sound engineer and private teacher.
